"The Radiator Springs Traffic Court will come to order!"
Sheriff, Cars

Historical Prelude[]

As the small, welcoming Oasis of Lizzie and Stanley began to attract more visitors, the young couple moved from the higher rocks to the flat desert terrain for expansion. The first project in the newly developing town was the traffic court, initiated around 1927, which established the initial legal framework and provided civic services such as the sheriff's district and the fire department. The construction of the courthouse was completed on April 19, 1929.

History[]

The Courthouse & Fire Department is the town's most significant building, the first to be designed and constructed in Radiator Springs. In Cars, here McQueen was accused in that building for vandalism, breaking up the road. As punishment, he was ordered by Doc Hudson to pave the road with Bessie. In front of the buildings, there is Stanley's statue, with some flowers around it, that Red loves watering. It appears in Cars Land located in Disney California Adventure, in which theme park guests walk pass it in order to board Radiator Springs Racers.

"A vehicle bearing resemblances to "Mater," blindfolded, lifting the scale, representing a parody of the blindfolded Lady Justice."

The Latin motto above the door of the Radiator Springs courthouse: "JUSTITAE VIA STRATA VERITATE" possibly indicates:

Lady Justice Blinded.

Lady Justice Blinded.

Seal of the District of Columbia

"The original seal."

The road to justice is paved / asphalted with truth, it can mean how the straight path to justice is to follow the asphalt road (good) and not to get disoriented in abandoned and lost ways (evil).

"Justitia Omnibus": justice is "blind," it applies to all. The seal of the District of Columbia depicts Justice, holding a scale, adorned with a "garland" in the original version, facing George Washington. The motto of the District of Columbia is "Justitia Omnibus" (Latin for Justice for All).

On the original seal, there is also the date 1871, indicating the year of the last District of Columbia Organic Act, the law that organizes the state in its current form. In the background, the Capitol is on the right, while on the left, a steam train travels along a viaduct in front of the rising sun.
