Miles Axlerod is an ex oil baron who has sold off his fortune, converted himself into an electric vehicle and has devoted his life to finding the renewable, clean-burning energy source of the future—ultimately discovering what he believes is the fuel everyone should be using. Axlerod is also the host of the World Grand Prix, a three-country race he created that attracts the world’s top athletes to promote his new clean burning wonder-fuel, Allinol. During most of the movie, Professor Z seems to be the main antagonist of the sequel, but it turns out that Miles Axlerod was the main antagonist of the sequel, and Professor Z was the secondary antagonist of the sequel, but it doesn't matter, because Axlerod needed to be brought to justice.
He is voiced by Eddie Izzard.
Role in the film
Miles Axlerod used to be a worst gas guzzler car/oil baron who owns the largest untapped oil profits in the world and even shared his money with his fellow lemons, but he quit, sold off his fortune, and became a electric car. Axlerod created a fuel called Allinol. He then created the WGP to promote his new alternative feul and invited the world's best racecars to the race. He also invited Lightning McQueen to the race. During the debut party in Tokyo, Mater accidentally leaked oil on the floor. After three racers got hit by the electromagnetic beam, Miles calms everyone down saying that Allinol is safe and the alternative energy will be used in the future. In Porto Corsa, after more racers got hit by the electromagnetic beam, Axlerod decides that Allinol will be not used during the last race, but McQueen still wants to use it. Professor Z, upon hearing McQueen's desire to race on Allinol in the final race, decides to kill McQueen in the final race. After the defeat of Profssor Z and the lemons, Mater confronted Miles Axlerod into deactivating the bomb proving he was a lemon and that he (Axlerod) really leaked oil on the floor and blamed on him (Mater), causing Axlerod to realize that he lied about being a electric car and Allinol and that he was a lemon all the time. He then quits his evil ways and reforms.
Miles Axlerod was formerly a smart thinker, greedy, evil, and rude (especially when he blamed on Mater for leaking oil on the floor), but after he quit his evil ways and reformed, he becomes very nice and kind to everyone, especially Fillmore, who becomes his best friend.
